A bill on measures to protect children, which would help avoid their removal from families, will be considered during the autumn session. Andrei Klishas, ​​a member of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Construction, announced this on Telegram.

“A set of measures to protect children is proposed, commensurate with the threats that must be eliminated, while maintaining the child's right to a family of his own. The removal of a child should be considered as an exceptional measure for the protection of the child and be applied only on the basis of a court decision, — said the senator.

Now Article 77 of the Family Code of Russia gives the body of guardianship and guardianship the right to immediately take the child away from the parents or guardians in the event of a threat to the life or health of the child.

Also, according to Klishas, ​​the law will include “the presumption of good faith in the exercise of parental rights by parents” as a principle of family law regulation, as well as the right of the child to live and be raised in his own family.

“The bill was prepared with the active participation of representatives of the parent community. We look forward to a constructive dialogue with all parliamentary factions on this bill during the autumn session of the parliament,— wrote Klishas.

The authorities regularly take measures to support families with children. In particular, from April 1, the country introduced a new payment for low-income families with children from eight to 16 years old inclusive. In Russia, there are already monthly payments for pregnant women and low-income families with children under the age of seven, inclusive. In addition, single parents who are raising children between the ages of eight and 16 receive assistance.

In 2021, all families received a lump sum payment of 10,000 rubles. for every child between the ages of six and 18. More than 200 billion rubles were allocated for this, that is, the number of children at this age was estimated at more than 20 million.
