Rumours are swirling, thanks to internet sleuths, that Shakira discovered her footballer ex Gerard Piqué was allegedly cheating on her thanks to a jar of jam.
The Colombian singer, 45, split from the Barcelona FC star in June last year, and shortly after Piqué started a relationship with 23-year-old PR student Clara Chía Marti.
Thanks to new music from Shakira, there’s widespread speculation Piqué didn’t simply move on, but had been seeing Chía Marti for months behind Shakira’s back.

The music video for her song Te Felicito (which means ‘congratulations’) has left fans wondering if it wasn’t a change in attitude or schedule that let Shakira know something was up in her marriage, but a humble jar in her fridge.
In the video, which was released last April, the singer opens her fridge, but to her shock, finds the head of her collaborator Rauw Alejandro sitting inside.
ITV’s This Morning pushed Shakira on why the scene was included in the video, and asked her why she goes to the fridge at all.

“To find the truth,” the singer said. “It is when I got to the fridge and find the head of Rauw Alejandro, which is pretty scary.”
Spanish TV program Socialite later reportedly declared the real clue in the fridge was a jar of jam – a spread Shakira loves to eat but that Piqué and their children, Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, hate.
According to reports Socialite, and many other Spanish and South American tabloids including El Universo, Vistazo, La Vanguardia and more, after a period of being away from home while she was promoting new music, Shakira returned to find a jar of jam in the fridge was empty.
The discovery didn’t make sense to the artist, given she was the only one in the house who ate the spread, and there were no visitors, to her knowledge, who had been at her home while she was away.
She then reportedly concluded her partner of almost 12 years had been cheating on her.
Plenty of fans have taken this theory and run with it, tweeting about it online.
One tweet reads, “Shakira after seeing her missing jam at home.”
It then shows a photo of a house with a sign out the front that reads, “Welcome to the house of infidelity”.
Another fan tweeted:
“Clara after realising that CLARAmenete should not have eaten Shakira’s marmalade.”
This tweet specifically references the name drop Shakira makes in a new song that she released in collaboration with Dj Bizarrap.
The song is simply titled Music Sessions #53.
The music video, which was released last week, has gone far past viral and now has over 148 million views.
It sees Shakira sing lyrics like “You left me as a neighbour to my mother-in-law / With the press at the door and debt at the tax agency.
“You thought you hurt me but you made me tougher / Women don’t cry any more, women invoice.”
The specific line this tweet refers to is “He has the name of a good person / Clearly, it’s not what it sounds like,” which in Spanish is “Tiene nombre de persona buena / Claramente, no es como suena.”
The use of the word “claramente” has amazed many fans, as it appears as a veiled reference to Piqué’s new girlfriend.
