Dr. Dre officially single amid bitter divorce battle with ex Nicole Young

Dr. Dre and Nicole Young are now officially single.

According to The Blast, the estranged couple have asked a California judge to sign off on legally ending their marriage. This means the rapper, whose real name is Andre Romelle Young, and Nicole are officially single and clear to get married again in the eyes of the law.

But their bitter divorce battle is still far from over, with the former couple yet to settle the financial part of their case — which has caused them much disagreement.

The judge is reportedly set to sign off on the agreement in July.

Dre, 56, and Young, 51, agreed to legally end their marriage on April 15. The pair were married for 24 years but split in March 2020. Young then filed for divorce in June last year.

According to legal documents, Young alleged Dre forced her out of their home “on or about April 2” and “quickly plotted to secretly transfer their assets, to deny Nicole her equal share.”

Dre is currently paying Young US$2 million (approx. $3.2 million) in temporary spousal support.

Last week, Dre had been instructed to find a new lawyer in his ongoing divorce battle after divorce lawyers Laura Wasser and Howard King had been disqualified. King was previously their family lawyer throughout the duration of their marriage and Wasser was removed because of her professional relationship with King.

Young and Dre share two children: 24-year-old son Truice and 20-year-old daughter Truly. Dr. Dre also has four children from previous relationships.
