Details of Kaley Cuoco’s ‘iron clad’ prenup emerge

Kaley Cuoco filed for divorce from husband Karl Cook on the same day the pair announced their split.

The couple announced their separation just two months after celebrating their three-year anniversary in June, revealing there was “no animosity, quite the contrary” in a statement.

Now, a source close to the Flight Attendant actress has told Us Weekly the star has an “ironclad prenup”.

The Big Bang Theory star and equestrian married in June 2018, following a six-month engagement. During the period they reportedly signed the prenup, protecting Cuoco’s “assets”, according to the insider.

The Emmy nominee filed for divorce on Friday, September 3 — the same day they announced their break-up.

“Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions,” they said in a joint statement to Page Six.

“We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary.”

They continued, “we have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further.”

The Superior Court of California ordered both parties to share their financial information — owned both separately and together — and debts, within 60 days, according to Us Weekly.

Numerous outlets have placed Cuoco’s net worth at US$100 million (approx. $134 million) — not including royalties — garnered from her years as a child actress and with the star later earning up to $1 million per episode of the Big Bang Theory’s final two seasons.

Cook, a star equestrian, has earned thousands in cash prizes at annual horse competition and is the son of software billionaire Scott Cook, who founded the company Intuit.

The couple have no children together, but share a dog they adopted in July.

Cuoco began dating Cook, an equestrian, in 2016. The pair got engaged on her birthday in November the following year.

The actress was previously married to tennis star Ryan Sweeting for just 21 months.

“I honestly thought I wouldn’t get married again,” she told Cosmopolitan at the time.

“My ex ruined that word for me. I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met. And that wasn’t my fault — that was his.

“I knew how much I had to give and how much I wanted to receive. I knew I just had to be patient … I had to go through a lot of things, but it brought me to Karl.”
